PR + Social at Olson Engage
I started my career in social media and PR at Olson Engage. Here I was able to cut my teeth and dig in to the type of work I love for brands like Behr, McDonalds, Regis, Discover Boating, and the Belize Tourism Board. While interning at Olson, I worked mostly on social strategy, copywriting, and content creation projects for our client'side social media andPR needs. However, during this time I also gained experience art-buying, script writing, and art directing.
For Behr Paint I assisted the Olson PR team with event planning needs along with the creation of client-facing presentations for their "Color Currents" editor and press event in NYC. The intent of "Color Currents" is to introduce the top trending hues in interior decor and design to tastemakers in both the lifestyle and fashion industry. In addition to Color Currents I also assisted with the launch of Behr's "Magnolia Home" paint collection with Chip & Joanna Gaines.
Discover Boating is like the "Got Milk" of the marine industry: they're all about getting people outdoors and on water. For them, I developed social content calendars, wrote copy, sourced photographers, assisted with props and styling for photoshoots, and developed relationships with outdoor influencers.
For both Minnesota and Wisconsin-based McDonald's franchises, I developed and wrote social content and copy, while assisting with the creation of digital assets, desiging images with text overlays promoting their latest seasonal promotions in Photoshop and InDesign.
